Leicestershire Business Awards 2008 – Companies take trophies, as Awards event celebrates its 15th Anniversary.
Leicestershire’s premier business event marked its 15th anniversary this year, at an Awards Gala dinner at De Montfort Hall in Leicester on 20th April 2008.
More than 600 business people gathered at the Leicestershire Business Awards to see seven firms crowned this year’s stars. The event sponsors were the Leicester Shire Economic Partnership, RBS and Tenon. Over the past 15 years the awards have attracted 1,493 entrants, whilst the awards launch and dinner have attracted 9,100 attendees. Mr Corbin has stood down after two years as Chairman and the role has been taken by Leicester Tigers' Chief Executive Peter Wheeler.
The 'Business of the Year' & 'Success through People' awards were both won by Westleigh Developments.
A 'commitment to innovation and expansion' won Shahid Sheikh the Entrepreneur of the Year award.
The 'Investing in Leicestershire' award was won by the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation.
Bott received the 'Enterprise through Innovation' award.
The 'Contribution to Charity' prize was won by Loughborough Building Society.
The Fleet Auction Group received the 'Sales & Marketing' award.
Crouch Logistics Services scooped the 'New Business Category' award.
