The route is 3.37km long by 3m wide and surfaced with tar and chip. Access controls have been be installed together with a drainage system and good quality sign posts.
Additional plans

- Encourage the development of tourism.
- Provide opportunities for traffic-free outdoor exercise.
- Improve conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and horseriders.
Partners
The main partners in this project are Leicestershire County Council, EMDA, The National Forest Company, SUSTRANS and local landowners.
Improving community life
The project has provided increased usability/accessibility to disabled people and all other sectors of the commuity. It has improved access to healthy lifestyle facilities and, in particular, has provided exercise opportuities for young people and the elderly.
Use of the route by local people and visitors to the area will contribute to the economic viability of the region. The route will provide managed opportunities to visit the countryside.
Outcomes
Cycyleway
- The cycleway is an uninterupted surfaced track 3.37km in length and provides an excellent easy country route for all throughout the year. It will eventually link to other routes planned in the area.
More visitors
- The path will result in increased visits to the route and surrounding area by the local population and visitors. These people will represent all classes of non-motorised recreational users of this kind of countryside facility.
