Taking Technology To The Next Level

Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce has secured funding through Leicester Shire Economic Partnership to develop and deliver a unique programme of activity called the Support Academy. This is an exclusive pilot project for the Leicestershire area.

The Support Academy programme includes a comprehensive FREE technology business support package and a FREE series of technology showcase events to explain the offer in detail and demonstrate the technology in action.

The showcase events are taking place at the National Space Centre on Friday 18 March 2005 & Wednesday 20 April 2005.

The Technical Support package includes:

  • Three months free ADSL Broadband connection, supplied by BT
  • The supply, installation, configuration and set up of the broadband connection, email service, a web browser, a wireless network and connectivity of a maximum of three PC’s and printers - Wireless Network Router and Firewall with connectivity for up to three PCs or laptops.
  • The installation, configuration and set up of Security Management
  • The installation, configuration and set up of a suite of SME applications including:

Groove Workspace (one month evaluation copy)
Skype – audio calls, conferencing and instant messages

  • Delivery of user familiarisation sessions during installation
  • Access to a dedicated three months technical support service delivered via comprehensive ICT Remote Assistance service

This programme is available to businesses based in the Leicestershire area with less than 250 employees, and is designed to help Leicestershire businesses take full advantage of the opportunities offered by technology and broadband applications.
