To attract inward investment to the proposed Leicester Science Park and other flagship regeneration projects in Leicester will require the availability of competitively priced, resilient, very high bandwidth digital connectivity and services to a high Quality of Service. Connectivity and services need to be available when the science park is marketed as connectivity is an important criterion for inward investment.
This requirement was highlighted in the Intelligent Landscape strategy for Leicester Shire and a separate report on connectivity for Leicester flagship projects. This project will undertake a detailed feasibility study and business case for the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle for the creation of a fibre ring infrastructure in the science park to provide on-demand high speed connectivity with managed services to be delivered over it.
