Leicester Regeneration Company
LRC works in partnership with emda, EP, LCC and LSEP to achieve physical regeneration in central Leicester. Its mission is to strengthen the city’s economy and to improve its environment and image.
LRC are working in five key intervention areas that were identified in the Masterplan. New Business Quarter, focussed around a reconfigured railway station and inner ring road; Waterside development reuniting the city centre with its waterways; Retail Circuit of linked shopping streets; New Community, inner city housing in the Lee Circle area; Abbey Meadows, a mixed development of science park , housing and retail centred on Wolsey Island.

Project Description
This regeneration is esential if Leicester and the sub-region are to prosper in the 21st century.

The LSEP are working alongside LRC in three areas of their work:
- New Business Quarter (POC)
- Science Park at Abbey Meadows
- Retail Core
The role of the LSEP is to facilitate the pre delivery of the projects including securing outline planning consent, site preparation and site promotion.

Outcomes
- A New Business Quarter to deliver 4,000 job
- A Science and Technology Park to foster new businesses linked to the world-class science at Leicester's Universities and to accommodate incoming firms, creating 1800 jobs.
- A Retail Circuit widening opportunities for new retailing.
