Applications
Current Situation
The LSEP is currently not seeking applications because application processes are under review by the LSEP and its Board, along with the East Midlands Development Agency. Projects are aleady in place for 2004-2005. Project selection guidelines for 2005-2006 will be issued later in the year.
How Previous Applications Have Been Processed
To help judge which project ideas best met its priorities the LSEP established Theme Groups of interested organisations and individuals who looked at the project ideas relating to each of the main 'themes' which drive the organisation. Recommendations were forwarded to the LSEP which decided which projects would be encouraged to develop detailed proposals.
All applications were independently assessed by an Appraisal Panel. The panel made recommendations to the LSEP as to whether the project should be approved in its submitted form and whether conditions should be attached to the approval. The LSEP then considered the panel's recommendations and, where a project was approved, prepared an offer letter setting out the funding and conditions which accompany its offer of grant.
