LSEP Launches the Sub-Regional Economic Strategy at an event at the Walkers Stadium on 5th June 2008
The LSEP launched the sub regional economic strategy that set out an ambitious vision for Leicestershire in 2020.
The event on Thursday 5th June was a dynamic demonstration of the private, public and third sectors working innovatively and creatively to improve our economy. The event marked a transition.
Leicestershire 2020 is the result of twelve successful months of consultation. Now we have to develop an implementation plan around seven key strands: innovation, image, employment and skills, business and enterprise, infrastructure, environmental sustainability and sustainable communities.
The event had three main objectives:
• To launch the strategy and consider its importance to all of us
• To reinforce our individual commitment to making it happen
• To set out a wide range of clear and tangible actions that will help implement the recommendations of the strategy
This document will be underpinned by a more detailed implementation plan which will be made available in October 2008.
